I'm not the first or only person who has strong, strong feelings about fonts. In fact, there are a lot of images floating around the web that were created by people who share in my font feelings...

In my humble opinion, there are just too many cool, awesome, and beautiful fonts that are already installed on computers and even cooler ones that can be downloaded online for free to use ugly, overused fonts like Comic Sans, Papyrus, Brush Script, or Curlz. Ahhh! Yuck!

Before you start typing in one of those heinous fonts (cringe), check out one of these sites and download some free, awesome fonts:

• 1001 Free Fonts
• Font Squirrel
• Font Space
• Lost Type
• daFont
• Font Stock
• Font Cubes

Some advice: don't settle on the first font you see. Type out the word or phrase that you're looking for a font for, copy it, paste it several times, and experiment with fonts. Here's a sample of what I'm talking about:

2. Anyone and anything who is trying to put off an international and/or cultural vibe.

4. That letter from Santa or the Tooth Fairy that's been typed to maintain an alias.
